FCSW
Awards
The
Florida Commission on the Status of Women
administers two awards throughout the year, the
Florida Women's Hall of Fame and the
FCSW
Florida Achievement Award.
The Hall of Fame is the Commission's oldest
and most prestigious award given by the
Commission. The Florida Women's Hall of Fame was
created by Florida Statute, to honor women who,
through their lives and efforts, have made
significant contributions to the improvement of
life for women and
for all
citizens of Florida. The FCSW maintains and
facilitates the permanent Florida Women's Hall
of Fame display in the state Capitol.
Nominations can be made each year April 1 – July
15. This award is for state and national
achievements.
The Commission also
recognizes meritorious women and men who have
improved the lives of Florida women and/or who
have served as positive role models for women
and girls
in their communities with the
FCSW Florida
Achievement Award. The Commission presents
the award in the area of the state in which the
Commission is meeting once each year. This award
is geared for outstanding volunteerism in one of
five regions of the state.
